The Saadian Tombs
Ahmed el Mansour "The Golden" extended this royal necropolis, already used at the beginning of XIVth century, at the end of XVIth century to ensure the members of the dynasty the eternal rest.

The building is composed of three rooms. The most famous is the room of the twelve columns where Ahmed el Mansour, his son and his grandson are buried.

This central room, with its marble columns of Italy and its cupola of worked cedar, is a very beautiful example of hispano-Moorish decorative art. Outside, there are the tombs of the soldiers and servants. It is possible to rest in the garden of the necropolis, true haven of peace.

The simplicity of the garden contributes to the atmosphere of meditation, which everyone feels when you come there for the first time. The smoothness of decoration contrasts with the strength of these columns.
