The El Badii Palace

Dar El Badii, the “palace of matchless” was built between 1578 and 1603 by Ahmed Al Mansour Addahbi (known as “the victorious one” for his victory during the battle of the three kings and “the golden one” for his works).

Dar El Badii was built with the richest materials: gold, onyx and marble of Italy. Today, there remains only one large esplanade with basins planted of orange trees and surrounded by high walls on which the storks nest.

The gardens and their basins are today the theatre of several cultural events.
