The Ben Youssef Medrassa
The Ben Youssef Medrassa is one of the jewels of Marrakesh.

The present building of this Koranic school was built around 1570 by Saadian and was restored in 1950.

At the time of its splendor, the Ben Youssef Medrassa could receive 900 students in the 150 cells of the building, which makes the biggest medrassa in the Maghreb.

The Ben Youssef Medrassa fascinates by the craft and decorative richness setting in the development of the walls in stuccos and the decorations in cedar.

This Koranic University ceased receiving students only in 1962.
