On behalf of the leadership of the International Society of Radiology, we join Professor Imani and her colleagues on the Moroccan Organizing Committee in extending our welcome to all radiologists to attend the 25th International Congress of Radiology (ICR 2008) beginning on June 5th of 2008 in the fabled city of Marrakesh. This will be the first International Congress of Radiology in the Maghreb. Already, it promises to be one of our finest ones. |

In the past decade, these congresses have involved into a broad educational experience in diagnostic radiology. A distinguished international faculty is selected to give lectures, coordinate panels and run workshops on major advances in our field, along with scientific and commercial exhibits of great significance.
There is a broad second dimension of these congresses which our Moroccan hosts have planned from the beginning. That is to provide the opportunity for fellowship which we all want to share with radiologists from around the world. Even further, this meeting provides many of us with our first opportunity to see a historically significant and exciting country. We even have a promise from our hosts that the weather will be excellent for all of our sightseeing. We know that our Moroccan hosts have invited neighboring societies to participate in the sponsorship and organization of this congress and that they, and all of us, are grateful to the French Society of Radiology for their general support for this effort. In upcoming months, we will join the organizing committee in providing information about the congress, how to participate, where to stay and how to enjoy the marvelous hospitality of Morocco. Make your plans now to join us in June 2008 in Marrakesh. Prof. Francisco Arredondo, M.D. Former-President, International Society of Radiology |
